Angel Kisses ~ inspired by a Sandra Caldwell image

Hi everyone! It's no secret to anyone who knows me that I love snowmen. Creating with them gives me the biggest grin. Sandra Caldwell has such sweet snowmen in her Etsy shop, Babycakes DND, that I decided to have a play with some this week. Today I am sharing the first card I made starring  89 Snow Stuffed. Isn't he just the cutest? I love the wee bird in his hat.

Snow Stuffed was coloured with Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils. He was then fussy cut leaving my usual narrow white border. Once he was adhered to black card stock, he was fussy cut again leaving a narrow black border. These two borders give him a bit of a frame and help him contrast with the background. He was then popped up on foam tape.

The card started with a white card base. A rectangle of MME Comfort & Joy designer paper was cut to fit just inside that base so that about 1/8 inch of white still shows once the black mat was adhered to the dotty paper. Another pattern from the same paper pad was cut into a band and matted with black card stock before being adhered behind Snow Stuffed. Snowflakes cut with a Lawn Fawn die from white card stock were adhered in the upper right corner.

The sentiment was printed on white card stock and cut into two sections. These were matted with black and popped up on foam tape. Another die cut snowflake was adhered next to the bottom section of words in order to bring the snowflake detail to the bottom of the card. This helps the eye move through the card and adds unity to the design.

Thanks for joining Snow Stuffed and me today. You've made us both so happy...he melted a little...LOL To see more of Sandra's fabulous designs and check out her other sweet snow guys, be sure to pop by her Etsy shop. Grab a hot beverage and a little snack first...there's lots to see :)

Life is good; so is art.
